The recommendations are based on both the vehicle’s mileage and the findings from our inspection. In the case of this Passat, with 96,000 km on the odometer, replacing the oil cooler is advised as the typical replacement interval is around 100,000 km. Since we’ll be replacing the water pump, it makes sense to also replace the oil cooler at the same time, as this allows easier access and reduces labor costs.

In simple terms, the Turbosmart BOV (dual port) will divert 50% of the air back into the turbo and release 50% of the air into the atmosphere thus producing the PSSST sound that we love so much. But if u want something quieter, you can go for the diverter valve (plumpback) which channels 100% of the air back into the turbo thus holding more boost.
